About Our Charity Donations
If you are created to fund charity why are you only donating 50% to the charities?
Great question! With a very simple answer, when a business is first starting out usually owners need to reinvest every penny they earn into building and expanding the business. So much so, that most tax revenue departments don’t expect new businesses to have a profit for the first two years. In order for us to develop new product lines, enter new markets, and manage all the other expenses a growing business needs, we need to use some of the profits to do so. Donating 50% out of the gate is going to severely cramp our style when it comes to expanding, but that is something we are prepared and planning for. It will be tough, but we want our donations to be significant right from the start.
How often do you transfer funds to the charities?
Quarterly. Subscribe to our social media for updates. We will always be transparent.
Can I donate to different charity with my purchase?
At this time you cannot. We certainly hope you love the charities we have chosen, however we are reviewing several options which may allow us to do this in the future. We have chosen to work with a select number of charities so that we can develop a much closer working relationship with them, and really understand and see our donations at work.
About Our Products
Where are you products made?
Our 100% genuine luxurious 22 momme, grade 6A mulberry silk masks, are hand crafted in the ancient silk city of Suzhou in China, the silk trade in this city dates back centuries, in fact silk trade in China dates back over 5,000 years. The Jiangsu Province is well known as the silk capital of China, and during the Tang and Song dynasties it was the center of silk production. This continued into the Ming and Qing dynasties, when silk weavers in Suzhou made most of the high-grade material especially for the royal families. Our supplier is a modernized factory that has successfully melded ancient techniques with modern efficiency. They are OEKO-TEX certified, and one of the few producers that own their own massive silk farm/mulberry tree grove.
Roughly only 5% of all the silk made in the world achieves this very highest grade of silk. Only the most luxurious brands use it, many high end brands and mid-market brands settle for grade 5A to lower their costs.
This is one product you want made in China.
The other components of our gift sets are sourced partially in China, partially locally in Thailand, our packaging is made locally in Thailand from 100% recycled grey board, and the final assembly is done by hand by our dedicated staff in Bangkok, Thailand.
What steps have you taken to ensure your products are environmentally friendly?
We have taken every step we can to reduce our products environmental footprint and carefully selected suppliers and materials that are eco-friendly. From the silk farm to the packaging we are constantly working on cradle to the grave improvements to lower our carbon footprint. You can read more on our sustainability page here.
Lastly our silk is OEKO-TEX certified, it is completely free from harmful chemicals and safe for human use. To attain Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification, the fabric has been tested and certified to be free from harmful levels of more than 100 substances known to be harmful to human health. Where can I buy your products in person?
We will be constantly adding fine retailers (we hope!) to our list of retail locations where you can touch and feel our products for yourself before buying. We are aiming for boutiques to support local businesses and small business owners, rather then trying to push into the big box retailer space. You can find our list of retailers here.
Where to get a refill for one of our products?
You will always be able to buy any refills, like PM 2.5 filters from us online here. All our retailers also carry convenient refill packs.
How do I take care of my Primal product?
Every Primal product comes with a beautiful care card with an amazing water colour unique to each collection on the back. You can also find care instructions here on our website.
